The turning point in her life with horses:
“The turning point for me – when I began to look at horses differently – was when I saw videos and performances such as Cavalia where humans and horses were working in such harmony, where the will of the horse was respected and honored, and where all these amazing moves were being done at liberty! The notion of having a connection and relationship with horses on such a deep level became irresistible to me. I vowed to learn everything I could to have that kind of relationship with my own horses, and eventually show others the way to create a true connection with theirs.”
From her earliest memories, Linda j Salinas has comfortably lived in and walked between the human and animal kingdoms. She is both an accomplished horse whisperer and renowned animal communicator who believes that each of us has the ability to communicate with animals if we will just quiet our minds and listen.
Even as a highly sought instructor and mentor, Linda considers herself first and foremost a student of the horse. It’s through horses she recognizes the connection they willingly offer to humans, yet people in general are disconnected from the natural world, from horses, and mostly from themselves. At the core of Linda’s work lies a profound belief that the integration of mind, body and spirit can transform human relationships with animals and with each other. Through her work with horses and humans, Linda focuses on the disconnect that people have within themselves. She is a gifted teacher who – with the help of the horse -- serves to inspire, motivate, empower and ultimately liberate people from their tethers so they may enjoy a fully congruent connection with nature, animals, and their true selves.
“I’ve had many great teachers who helped me learn the language of horses,” she says. “But it’s ultimately been the horses that have shown me how to find a true connection.” That’s the epiphany driving True Connection Horse Academy: only when we become a student of the horse will we discover what it means to create an unbreakable bond. After years of study, experimentation and practice, Linda has created an online resource to teach others what it has taken her decades to learn. Linda has given public and private intensive clinics throughout the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, and Europe. When she is not traveling, Linda spends time on her farm in North Carolina with her husband of 44+ years. Together they share a menagerie that includes four adult children, four grandchildren, her Belgian Malinois Khaleesi, and last but never least, a herd of seven all-knowing horses.
