MY # 1 TRAINING TIP WITH HORSES
When I want to teach my horse something new, I naturally give it a lot of thought. Although I hope to achieve a new outcome, my primary goal is to maintain a strong bond with my horse. Connection with my horse will tell me everything I need to know about the potential success of my new plan and leaves me open to possibly see he may have a better idea. I stay focused on our CONNECTION and detach from the OUTCOME. Rather than wasting time thinking about what I want, need, or desire to teach my horse, I primarily focus on how well we "play" together. Instead of becoming obsessed with the destination, I focus on our mutual well-being throughout the journey.
The feeling of well-being in the company of horses brings forth a feeling of bliss that is simply indescribable. "Bliss" is commonly defined as complete or perfect happiness. I am a firm believer that connection is everything! The more connected you are to yourself, the more connected you will be with your horse and with the world around you. As you learn the art of connection, you also become well-versed in it's ability to overcome any adversity.
Although short and sweet, this blog provides a lot for us to lick and chew on.
